Jativa Castle

To get to Jativa take the CV60 from Gandia and then the CV610 to Jativa. The drive from Gandia takes about 1 hour. After arriving in Jativa follow the pink signs for the Casc Antic and Castell. Free parking is available near to the entrance. Tickets cost 2 euros for adults and 1 euro for children and pensioners. It is closed on Mondays. Normal opening times are from 10:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs in winter and 10:00 hrs to 19:00 in summer. There is a bar and restaurant, and a picnic area. The restaurant serves lunch from 14:00 hrs. View towards the Castell Major

Jativa castle has 30 towers and four fortified gateways and must be one of the loveliest in the Valencian Commmunity. It dates back from the Roman times. The walks are split into 2, the Lower Castle (Castell Menor) and the Upper Castle (Castell Major), the latter being about 1 kilometer each way.

The 3 bronze canons were mentioned in 1580, but were recasted in 1690. View towards the Castell Menor
